Text Box: James Brawn has worked in Korea for more than ten years. In that time he has worked as a high school English teacher at Daewon Foreign Language High School, as composition instructor for the Institute for Foreign Affairs and National Security, as a teacher-trainer and trainer-of trainers licensed by the School for International Training (SIT) to administer the QuiLT Certification Program at Paju English Village, and as a visiting scholar at the Catholic University of Korea. He has also done curriculum and material development for the Sogang Language Program and LittleFox.co.kr. 
 
He is currently employed by Hangook University of Foreign Studies in the Graduate School of Education and he is doing teacher-trainer in their TESOL Certification Program.  
 
He is from Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the USA – a small city an hour north of Boston. A picture of his hometown appears on your left. Click here to see additional photographs of Portsmouth taken by James' brother.
 
In 1990 he graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in Russian Literature and Sociology. Later, he went to the University of Texas at Austin and obtained his Master’s Degree in Education. 
 
Current academic interests include co-teaching and the challenges of implementation and team building, immersion education, material development for young learners, and first and second language composition.  He is the author of several essays about education as well as the author of several children's storybooks. He is also the co-author of Aim High series of textbooks.
