Assessment

30% attendance and participation
10% Life Map Presentation
30% Mid-term performance evaluation
30% Final performance evaluationtop

Attendance

Attendance is mandatory. Participants who arrive 10 minutes or more after the start of class will be considered late. Participants who are late 3 times will receive 1 absence. Any participant who misses 1/4 or more of all class meetings WILL receive an F in the course. More important than attendance is participation. I expect participants to be active in class discussions and to complete all oral and written assignments BY THE DUE DATE. If assignments are handed in late without prior permission from the instructor, 10% for each late day will be deducted from the grade. Finally, participants in this course will have several opportunities to apply the skills learned in lectures, discussions and workshops by engaging in various "in-class" activities and projects.

Life Map Presentations

In week 3 participants will use their Life Maps and make a 3-5 minute presentation to their classmates. You will use events from your life map to illustrate your presentations. While your classmates present you will take notes and complete a graphic organizer about your classmates.

Performace Assessments

There will be two performance assessments. There will be the Mid-term assessment which will focuses on the learner’s ability to understand a new aural text. There will also be the Final assessment which will focuses on the learner’s ability to understand a new aural text.
Note: These “new” texts will come from similar themes or topics which were studied during the semester.
